Breakfasts Around the World: A Photo Collection

A meal is so much more than the food that’s on your plate.  A meal is a story of culture and heritage.  It can transport you to a time and place, simply by eating and experiencing the food customs.  And nothing proves that more than this series of fascinating photos I stumbled upon while online.  It is a collection of photos of different breakfasts from around the world.  Who knew that the most important meal of the day could look so different?  Pancakes and bacon in America, pork porridge in Thailand, empanada type dumplings filled with meat and vegetables in Bolivia; all considered breakfast items.  I wish I could eat it and experience it all!

Full English Breakfast: Sausages, bacon, eggs, grilled tomato, mushrooms, bread, black pudding and baked beans. Knocked back with a cup of tea.
Thailand: Pork porridge with Chinese doughnuts, beansprouts, pork intestine stuffed with peppery pork mince, sliced pork heart, stomach slivers and blood pudding.
Bolivia: Saltenas are a bit like empanadas crossed with Cornish pasties. They’re the traditional option for a Bolivian breakfast and usually filled with meat and vegetables, and slightly sweetened with sugar.
