One of the best things about the holidays is getting a tin of cookies from Aunt Penny. Made by hand, these cute cookies are only about 1.5 inches in diameter and are buttery, crisp, and just about the most delicious things you will ever eat. How she gets them so light and crispy, I may never know, but they are insanely good.
Every year I imagine her lovingly hand pressing these precious treats and meticulously sprinkling ornamental glitter on the Christmas tree shaped cookies. I imagine that there are sheets of cookies covering all the surfaces of her kitchen and dining room as she ices cute little bowties on her cinnamon spiced gingerbread men. These cookies are made with so much hard work and love and are definitely appreciated by her lucky recipients. Oh the joy of receiving one of these merry little tins (and then quickly hiding them away from everyone else). She should really go into the cookie business.
